Many of today’s chronic illnesses have a stress-related component. Mind body practices such as yoga and meditation which incorporate mindfulness have been scientifically proven to reduce stress and improve both physical and mental/emotional wellbeing.
These self healing modalities provide the basis for mind body healing as an adjunct or complement to traditional medical treatments creating integrative pathways to wellness. With todays emphasis on preventative health, wellness programs providing education in the self healing tools of mind body medicine are valuable and beneficial for individuals and corporations.
